Technical difficulties--please stand by.

First of all, sorry there have been no updates since Friday before last. I'm still learning about posting photos to the blog (longwinded opinions are all too easy, as any blog reader can attest). I'll be getting up to speed shortly.

Secondly, visitors to the run will have noticed we're getting some work done. Quite honestly, I didn't think there was anything particularly wrong with the stretch of sidewalk running past our poochs' playground, but the city obviously did. The ongoing project of replacing all those hundreds of feet of pavement is going to complicate getting to the run for the forseeable future. Well, we wouldn't want it to be EASY, now would we?

Let's try and resist the temptation to let our barking buddies immortalize themselves with pawprints on the drying concrete. Though really, now I think on it, a Rocky Run "Walk of Fame" would be a brilliant idea.

Oh well, maybe next time they repave the sidewalk for no discernible reason. That'll probably be a year or so from now, anyway. And in the meantime, we still don't have our double gates for the run, but I guess one has nothing to do with the other.

I'm going to try and reach our dedicated run manager Bailea to see if there's been any progress in terms of obtaining the funds to put in the double gates. Last time I talked to her, she was still waiting for a little grant from New York Presbyterian to come through. As she explained it to me, the money is due to arrive anytime now--it's been due to arrive anytime now for the better part of 2007.

Isn't it nice for our dogs that they don't have to worry about any of this? They leave it to us to sweat the fine details, while they deal with the big picture stuff.
