Clean-up Day, Saturday, May 18th, 9:30am to 2:30pm
Jerry told me a while ago, but I see it's up on the Parks Dept. website now--we're the Ft. Washington Park dog run? First I ever heard of it. This has absolutely no bearing on offleash hours down by the river. That's still good, and ever shall be. Railroad tracks and a major highway between us and the Hudson.
Here's hoping spring has arrived by then. Since it's a Saturday, we can possibly switch to Sunday if it rains, but it WILL NOT RAIN. (::knocks wood::)
In keeping with our traditions, bring your dog if you want (with the usual caveats about keeping an eye on him/her). Tools will be provided, and there will be refreshments, and probably some Parks Dept. swag (T-shirts, tote bags, beverage containers, etc). Gardening enthusiasts welcome, but most of the work will be shoveling wood chips, as usual.
And as usual, the dogs will do no work at all, run around playing king of the mountain on wood chip piles, and look at us like we're nuts. They have a point. But show up anyway.
