Fort Washington Barks: Good fun at the 'kayak beach'.
Jack and Bo. (click to enlarge)
Yeah, thought I'd take a break from the parks activism shtik--I'll catch up later this week. These photos were taken this past Saturday and Sunday, at the Fort Washington Park Dog Beach, just south of the tennis courts.
Okay, officially speaking, there is no such thing as the Fort Washington Park Dog Beach. It's supposed to be a Kayak Beach. I haven't seen a kayak there in--well--ever. There are anecdotal reports of occasional kayak appearances there. That's actually something the Parks Department hopes to address with its improvement scheme, putting in kayak lockers, fixing up the beach, etc--to make it a less underused resource.
"Underused. Right. And what are we, chopped liver? Actually, do you have any chopped liver? No, huh? Typical."
Jack savors a very temporary victory.
Mary brought Bailey by to check out the beach.
He's still making up his mind about it.
Simba and Grace.
Chucky.
Yes, clearly this beach is criminally underused.
Dagmar, our resident Flat-Coated Retriever.
Tender.
Star--Basenji mixed with something else. Like maybe river otter, or mountain goat. My money's on dervish.
Obi-Wan, a Shepherd-Eskimo Mix.
The Force is strong in this one!
Marley, do you think you could possibly face the camera?
Thank you!
Duke.
Bo, Chucky, Jack.
Chucky checks out Cinnamon
Cinnamon doesn't seem to think the beach is underused.
