Fort Washington Barks: Xocha and Linnea

Last Saturday, we took Max down to the river for some recreation, and met plenty of our usual canine cohorts--along with two we don't meet so often. Xocha and Linnea are both puppies, both growing fast, both full of mischief, and both frustrated when older dogs sometimes act like they've got something better to do than play with them (like when Max just wants to chase his ball). They have an awful lot in common.

There are, however, a few minor differences, chief among them that Linnea is a lovely little pit mix--

--and Xocha is a strapping St. Bernard, who'd be a cinch to play Nana in Peter Pan in just a few years.

We'd met Linnea down by the river a few times, but Xocha we'd only met twice before; first at the St. Nicholas run, and then at the Rocky Run.

Xocha and Linnea had never set eyes on each other before.

After a brief sizing-up period, they proceeded to make up for lost time. (Note: Yolanda Garcia took many of these photos).

"Hey, don't hog all the water!"
